Who are Archie, Jughead, Betty, and Veronica?

Archie Comics, was created in 1941 by Vic Bloom and Bob Montana. After four years in the U.S. Army Signal Corps, Montana returned in 1946 to launch the Archie newspaper comic strip. Several real-life residents of Haverhill, MA, Montana's hometown, were drawn into his creation. These characters attend Riverdale High Scholol and include:

Archie Andrews, a lovable clumsy redheaded 17 year-old boy who is girl crazy, but means well. His affections are usually torn between Betty and Veronica, starting one of modern literature's greatest love triangles.

Jughead Jones, Archie's best friend who wears a depression-era style "clubhouse beanie" crafted from an inverted fedora with a scallop brim cut and decorated with pin backs. His major love in life is food, though he stays thin. His major job in ife is keeping Archie out of trouble.

Reggie Mantle, Archie's rival who is always out to make Archie look bad, especially in front of Veronica. He's always chasing after Veronica or Moose's girlfriend Midge.

Moose Mason, the lovable but dumb jock of Riverdale High School. He's pretty easy going, unless a boy hits on his girlfriend Midge.

Dilton Doiley, the nerdy inventor of the gang. When he's not tutoring someone for a test, he's inventing something that Archie will eventually break. 

Sabrina the Teenage Witch, seemingly normal Sabrina uses her witchcraft to help others out at Riverdale High School.

Josie and the Pussy Cats, the local band in Riverdale that occasionally tours with The Archies composed of Josie, Melody, and Valerie. 

Betty Cooper, America's girl next door. Betty is in love with Archie, though to her dismay he sometimes sees her as just a friend. She's famous for working on her car and coming up with easy fixes to Archie's problems. 

Veronica Lodge, the wealthy heiress of the town. She has her sites set on Archie, but sometimes it seems she only wants him when he's with Betty. She is famous for her sense of style and short temper.

How did the love triangle start? 
In the earliest Archie Comics, Archie wrote to Veronica asking her to a high school dance. He didn't think Vernoica would come and asked Betty. Veronica accepted the invitation, thinking that a dance would be fun. At the time, she lived in a much bigger city and begged her parents to go. Archie struggled trying to keep his dates with both girls, thus beginning their love triangle that continues today.

About the Creator: Taken from a collection of comic books she has been collecting since she was 10 years old, Heather PJ creates these Archie Comic book necklaces, bobby pins, rings, magnets, and accessories using her favorite images of Archie, Jughead, Betty, and the gang. Now you can wear a piece of her comic book collection as well. Each comic book is disassembled and put into a randomly selected bottle cap with epoxy. Original pages of the comic book are used, thus making your item one of a kind.
